Obi-Wan Kenobi was the great Jedi Master and served on the Jedi Council.
We were privileged to see him training under Qui-Gon Jinn as a padawan up until his death and becoming a Force Ghost.Obi-Wan took Anakin Skywalker as his padawan and Luke Skywalker as his apprentice.
Some believe much as there was a Rule of Two with the Sith, so it became with Jedi.
However, with recent canon unveiled through Star Wars Rebels, it appears there were more than two Jedi alive at a time after Order 66 and on through at least The Return of the Jedi."A great leap forward often requires taking two steps back."
